DESCRIPTION

Please read entire listing below!!!!!

Hello, my name is Jean Doerflein and I'm selling hatching eggs from my pure bred White and Gray Call ducks. I've been raising both white and gray Calls for well over ten years.  My White Call line comes from: James Konecny (2015), Lee & Lee Morey (2015, 2011), Dennis Fuller (2011), Charlie Hodum, M&J Waterfowl, and Art Lundgren. My gray Call line is from: Dennis Fuller (2011), Patty Pickard (2009), Earl Miller (2000), and at least one other breeder's line (2 males) between 2000 & 2009. When I first began purchasing birds I didn't realize it was important to keep track of who I bought birds from so I don't remember them all now.  I am APA Master Exhibitor #749. I regularly show in Indiana and Ohio.  A full list of the shows I plan to attend each year is available on my website.

My website is www.duckcreekpoultryplace.weebly.com and my farm's facebook page is www.facebook.com/duck.creek.poultry.place  I have more pictures of my birds on both.

I fill orders on a first come first served basis so please contact me for weeks of availability. My wait list for eggs is filling quickly. Eggs will be shipped during the week from Monday-Wednesday.  If the order cannot be filled by Wednesday then it will ship the following Monday with the freshest eggs available.  Local pick up is also available for eggs at a discounted price as well as delivery to shows I'm attending.

I plan to begin shipping in April. Contact me now to be placed on the waitlist.

The eggs will include eggs from BOTH my WHITE AND GRAY Calls. I cannot guarantee how many of each color you will get but I try to make it close to a 50/50 ratio. I keep both colors in separate pens so the white's eggs will be pure bred white and the same for the grays. There will not be any ducklings that will turn out half white and half gray.

This ad is for 1 dozen (12) hatching eggs and includes USPS Priority Mail postage for a total of $60.

Priority Mail generally takes 2-3 days for delivery but it is not guaranteed and can take longer especially if you live far from Indiana, live in a very rural area, or the week of shipment is a holiday week.   I cannot guarantee what day the eggs will arrive and I will not send replacement eggs due to the eggs getting delayed past the “general” shipment timeframe of 2-3 days.  The USPS does not guarantee delivery dates for Priority Mail and neither can I.  If you have questions please let me know.

I DO use both pencil and Sharpie markers to date and label my hatching eggs. Some people have been led to believe that markers will harm the egg/embryo. This is simply not true. I have used both markers and pencil for many years and I've found no difference between them. Because some people still believe this I want my customers to know I use markers.

I DO NOT wash the eggs unless specifically requested to do so. If you want your eggs sanitized/washed please let me know and I can accommodate you, otherwise they will not be washed. I use a solution of Oxine with warm water to clean the eggs when asked to wash them.  Please keep in mind that my duck's pens include access to our creek (aka access to mud/dirt).  If you have questions or concerns just ask me.

I DO NOT ship outside the Continental US.  I do not ship to Hawaii or to Alaska.  Be sure you can receive hatching eggs at your location before you buy the eggs.  I will not be responsible for egg shipments returned due to your state and local laws.  Check with your local post office for specific regulations.

To Pay:

  • To pay using PayPal please e-mail me at jndoerfl.dcpp(at)yahoo.com and I can send you an invoice through PayPal with a link to pay.
  • I also accept money orders and personal checks but they have to clear the bank before I ship the eggs.

If you are interested in purchasing eggs please ask me when eggs are available and include if you are interested in purchasing more or less than 1 dozen eggs.

No refunds!  Buyer beware hatching eggs can be a risky investment.   I cannot be held responsible for your hatching techniques or incubation which led to your hatch!  There are many factors which determine embryo development and hatchability most of which are out of my control once the eggs leave my farm.  Fertile eggs contain a living embryo which can become damaged and fail to developHatching Calls is not for beginners because they need careful monitoring and may need help hatching. If you've never hatched Calls I cannot recommend buying hatching eggs.  If you would like advice on how to help hatch waterfowl please let me know and I can provide you with that info free of charge! I appreciate your understanding and business!!!!! ***

Thanks so much!!

I DO NOT HAVE ANY ADULTS, YOUNG BIRDS, OR DUCKLINGS FOR SALE AT THIS TIME.  I DO NOT SHIP DUCKLINGS!  I DO SHIP YOUNG BIRDS AND ADULTS IN THE FALL.  I CAN DELIVER BIRDS TO SHOWS I ATTEND AND ONLY TO SHOWS I REGULARLY ATTEND.  I DO NOT OFFER TO MEET YOU "HALF WAY" BETWEEN MY FARM AND YOURS, PLEASE DON'T ASK.  THANK YOU!

*** I try very hard to package the eggs so they arrive in excellent condition but I have no control over the postal service. Due to shipping and differences in incubators I cannot guarantee your hatch rate.  Shipping stress and improper handling can cause early embryo death causing fertile eggs to fail to develop.  After the eggs leave our farm I can't control if the eggs get too hot, cold, get x-rayed, scrambled from rough handling, etc...  Because of this I cannot guarantee how many of your eggs will successfully develop.  After a few days of incubation the blastoderm degrades and there is no reliable way to differentiate failed embryos and infertile eggs.  Whenever possible I will include "extra" eggs to offset the stress of shipping and incubation problems.  Mailing hatching eggs is a risky thing for both seller and buyer please understand this.  My eggs are individually wrapped in bubble wrap and packaged with packing peanuts. Ask all questions before ordering eggs!!
